What age do you have to be to get legally married in Australia?

The legal age limit in Australia is 18 years of age.

Same Sex ceremonies?

Absolutely.

Do you conduct religious ceremonies?

Yes. I am open & respectful of all faiths, denominations and spiritual traditions/paths. I am happy to be guided by and incorporate what is relevant & true for you.

 

What sort of ongoing support or contact is normal
before a big day?

You’ll have as much contact with me as you need by phone or email, or in person if I’m available, during the lead up to your ceremony.

 

Should we have a rehearsal?

Yes, I highly recommend a rehearsal for weddings or any other celebration.

 

How far in advance do we/should we book a celebrant?

I recommend booking your celebrant as early as 12 months before your intended wedding date. For other ceremonies where no legal documentation is required I will be as flexible and as responsive as I can with timing & planning.

Please note that I require a 50% deposit when completing the Notice of Intended Marriage Form.(usually done 4 weeks prior to the Ceremony)

 

How long does it take to write a draft ceremony?

A ceremony that is written exactly to your tastes and requirements. Normally this will take me between 2 and 3 drafts to complete.

 

Do you do elopements?

I sure do. Elopements are perfect for a couple wanting a simple but beautiful ceremony for you and your witnesses.

 

What about last-minute ceremonies?

Absolutely. However under the legal requirements, you are required to lodge the NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage) at least one month prior to your big day.

Do I have to memorise the vows when it’s my turn to speak?

It’s completely up to you. You can simply repeat after me or have me quietly prompt you, if you prefer.    

 

Tell me about your PA system

I have a Bose S1 Pro PA System which is absolutely fine for outside crowds of up to 200 persons.

Can you travel?

I’m happy to travel far & wide. Standard pricing is for ceremonies based in Metropolitan Melbourne, however price can be negotiated based on your circumstances.

 

How much input can we have for our ceremony?

You can have as much input, or as little input as you would like. At the end of the day, it’s all about you!

 

What time will you arrive?

I will arrive 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

 

How long does the ceremony usually take?

This usually depends on how many readings etc you put into your ceremony. However, the usual time a ceremony goes for is about 30 minutes.
